Calling all Seekers. Learn more about our Catholic Faith.

Do you feel a nudge that the Lord is calling you to become Catholic? Or perhaps you’re just curious and would like to know more? Then the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults or OCIA is for you. Through prayer, reflection, Bible study, and you will grow spiritually and discern where the Holy Spirit is guiding you. If you are alreay Catholic, did you know that eighty percent of people come to Church for the first time because someone invited them. Who can you invite to join OCIA? Family members, friends, coworkers, classmates, neighbors, or maybe a young couple who recently started a family. Pray for the success of the OCIA program but also consider loving someone enough to invite them to join you at Mass. Make someone a plate of home-made cookies then give it to them with an invitation to join you in learning more about the Catholic Faith.  The OCIA program begins September 13, 2026 and continues to Easter. You are welcome to join anytime, however.  If you or someone you know is searching and interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith, please call the parish office at (417) 869-3646 for more information.

Who is OCIA for?

First, OCIA is for those adults who have not been Baptized in a Christian faith tradition.

Second, OCIA is for those adults who have been Baptized in another Christian denomination.

Third, OCIA is for those adults who have been Baptized in the Catholic Church but have not celebrated the other sacraments of initiation.

No matter which of those groups you fit into, we will guide you through a period of formation that includes prayer, reflection, and participation in liturgy until you are ready to receive the sacraments of initiation which include Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist.
